Seniors Programme & Awards

Senior Section

Our Senior Section is for boys in S4 to S6 and meets alongside our Company Section on both Fridays and alternate Sundays for a Bacon Roll Bible Class.

On a Friday evening, we meet from 8.00-10.15pm in Dunblane Cathedral Hall. We start off alongside the P7-S3 boys, for whom Seniors are given responsibility to lead and set an example to. After our opening inspection and devotions – a time to stop and think about the week’s events and see what the bible might have to say about them – seniors will have their own programme, which could vary from a topical movie one week, a mock trial or debate another, and a Top 50 songs competition the next. Seniors have a lot of say in planning their own programme and the leaders plan things accordingly. Many young men work towards gaining the Queen’s Badge, the highest award in The Boys’ Brigade, part of which involves them giving their time helping the Company or church in different ways, as well as the wider community.

You can register to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (Bronze/Silver/Gold) through the BB in Dunblane after a 3-month trial period of membership. Many of our seniors help out in one of the younger sections.

Seniors are offered lots of opportunities, including many that the Company Section do but also some that they don’t. For example, we will sometimes go off on Friday nights for special visits or social events without the younger guys, and we have a weekend away (including a ski trip or mountain bike weekend) to ourselves, too. But we’ll work with the P7-S3 boys as well, helping make sure they have the same great experiences that we did.
